HNB wins best facilitator in cheque clearing operations

HNB won the coveted award for the best facilitator in cheque clearing operations amongst the commercial banks in Sri Lanka.

This award was presented at the fifth anniversary celebration of the implementation of the cheque imaging system, which was organised by Lankaclear (Pvt) Ltd. and held at the Cinnamon Lakeside on 31 May 2011. The Chief Guest at this occasion was Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal.

The award represented the most efficient cheque clearing operations amongst banks which enable customers to deposit cheques from over 210 customer centres islandwide.

Cheques deposited up to close of business are processed on the same day itself and funds released to customers’ accounts before 3 p.m. the following working day, enabling counter withdrawals for any large sum as well as withdrawal through any of HNB’s ATMs islandwide.
