HNB opens two customer centres in the east on same day

Hatton National Bank opened two customer centers in the Eastern Province in Kalawanchikudy and Thandanveli on the same day recently.

These were HNBs 201st and 202nd customer centres in the country. Managing Director /CEO HNB Rajendra Theagarajah was the chief guest and ceremonially opened the customer centres in the presence of a distinguished gathering which included J.R.P.M. Paiva – DGM (HR& Administration) HNB, Lasantha Fernando – AGM (Recoveries and Credit Quality Management) HNB, S. Arumainayagam – Government Agent, Batticaloa, Arulrasa – Divisional Secretary, Kalavanchikudy and A.V. Beadle – Regional Head(East) HNB.

Theagarajah mentioned in his speech that HNB commenced its services in the island 120 years ago as Hatton Bank in Hatton and the 100th customer centre was opened in Kotahena 11 years ago.  But within the period of 11 years the Bank expanded with an additional 102 more customer centers, which is testimony to the bank’s rapid expansion. Further, he mentioned that HNB established its first customer centre in the east 34 years ago in Trincomalee and the Batticaloa customer centre has been serving the people of the area for the last 15 years during difficult times and good times. The Kaluvanchchikudy customer center will serve the needs of the people of Eluvankarai and Paduvankarai, where more than 40 agricultural villages are located.  Theagarajah invited the large gathering of customers present at these openings to fully make use of the facilities provided by the Bank.
