HNB assist SMEs in Matara

Recently launching yet another CSR initiative, HNB PLC offered skills training to 30 SMEs of Matara.

The Bank’s Training Centre in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) conducted a two day work shop on ‘Developing a Business Plan’ on 9 and 10 November at Lalitha Hotel, Matara.

SMEs who participated at this programme represented a host of industries including hotel, tea, electronic, beauty, readymade garments, etc.

The programme, which was conducted by EML consultants, was well received by the participants. The main objective of the programme was to assist the SMEs to become more professional in their business management and to help them to further augment their business.

The SMEs appreciated the initiative taken by HNB PLC citing that this is the first time a bank has come forward to help them with the sole objective of assisting them to carry out their business activities more efficiently and effectively.
