Himalee appointed to The Finance Board

The Finance Company Plc has announced the appointment of R.A. Himalee I. Kularathna to the Board as an Independent Non Executive Director.

An Attorney-at-Law by profession, Kularathna practices law in Sri Lanka and also worked as a visiting lecturer at the Graduate Faculty, University of Colombo and Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies and other private institutions in international human rights law and public international law. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo with honours and thereafter completed the Attorney-at-Law and joined the Sri Lankan Bar. Further she completed her postgraduate studies, Master of Laws at Brunel University, United Kingdom. Kularathna completed the Diploma in Diplomacy and Global Affairs at Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute and the Specialisation course of International Criminal Law for young penalists at International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences in Italy. She started her career as a Legal Research Assistant at Weeramantry International Centre for Peace Education and Research and thereafter worked as a Junior Counsel at Law Chambers of some senior Counsels in Sri Lanka. She also worked as an Assistant case worker at Courtney Smith and Co Solicitors and A-Z Law Solicitors in London. Kularathna was the Convener of Colombo Forum on Contract Law of Colombo Law Society in 2012 and the Annual Labour LAw Symposium of Sri Lanka Bar Association in 2014. Currently she is the Chairperson of the Committee on legal awareness of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. With the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of The Finance Plc comprises S.H.A.M. Abeyratne (Chairman), Sujeewa Rajapaksha (Deputy Chairman), A.P. Lekamge (Managing Director), T.B. Ekanayake, R. Athukorala, R.D. Abeywickrema, A.L. Somaratne and R.A.H.I. Kularathna.
