Global awards, recognition for 42 top Union Assurance professionals

Forty-two Personal Financial Advisers (PFA) of Union Assurance (UA) were recently recognised internationally for their achievements and commitment to professionalism by the MDRT and LIMRA associations. Twelve of the said PFAs were deemed eligible to participate for this year’s Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) conference held in Pennsylvania, USA where some of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 450 companies in 79 countries congregate. Here, professionals are able to share world-class knowledge, practices, are exposed to innovative sales ideas and groomed to develop new skills to provide quality insurance solutions and services to their clients. Founded in 1927, MDRT has proved to be the resource to improve the technical knowledge, sales and client servicing skills in sales professionals while maintaining a culture of high ethical standards. A further 30 recipients of UA were recognised for their combined industry insight and unwavering commitment at the LIMRA awards 2013 where International Awards for Productivity (IAP) were presented. One platinum award, three gold awards and 22 silver awards were presented as well. B. Kirshnakumar from the UA Trincomalee branch was the recipient of the prestigious platinum award for his admirable performance. Chanaka Appuhamy of the Chilaw branch was a recipient of the IAP award for the ninth consecutive year while Janitha Rohana of the Baddegama branch was awarded the IAP award for the eighth consecutive year. Khor Han Heng, Managing Director of the South Asia Region (LIMRA and LOMA) was present at the prestigious awards ceremony, where he praised the commitment of the award recipients and shared best practices of the Life insurance profession. In addition to trainings offered by LIMRA, recognition awards such as LIMRA International Quality Awards (IQA), International Awards for Productivity (IAP) and International Quality Management Awards (IQMA) were presented. UA’s strong position in the industry reflects its commitment towards providing quality service and need-based solutions to its customers. A robust retail distribution structure in Sri Lanka, comprising advisors and bancassurance personnel, has played a significant role in reaching the life insurance solutions to a large under-penetrated population.
