CSE, SEC hold Investor Education Day at WTC

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in association with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) on Friday hosted an awareness campaign on investing in the stock market at the Lobby Level of the World Trade Centre, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors to the stall were given a unique opportunity to tour the trading floor, meet with stockbrokers and unit trust companies, open accounts in the Central Depository System (CDS) and obtain vital insights on investing in the capital market. CSE said it is the prevailing notion that in light of the positive performance of the market and the current low interest rates; it is an ideal time for potential investors to enter the market and maximise their returns by investing wisely. The CSE Investor Education Team was present to educate visitors to the stall on the principal elements of investing, provide them with special publications and answer any queries on investing. Potential investors can also take the next step in their journey, of wise investment, by liaising with a stock broker or representatives from unit trusts.
