Amãna Takaful, one of Sri Lanka’s fastest growing composite insurers, recently re-fashioned the Business Protection Cover to its far-reaching insurance repertoire highlighting the company’s ability to meet market needs in an increasingly dynamic economy. The new product Amãna Takaful Business Cover has an inbuilt health insurance cover for the policy holder making it a one-of-a-kind solution. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) such as pharmacies, spare part dealers, stationers, and guest houses are set to benefit from this cover. The breadth of this insurance product also extends to shops specialising in a variety of goods and services, such as groceries, textiles, fancy goods, books, and communications. Such enterprises, which opt to be covered by Amãna Takaful, will enjoy protection from fire, natural disasters and related perils, shop breaking, liability to public, workman’s compensation, cash protection, cost of legal expenses, and plate glass cover in addition to the peace of mind afforded from a free hospitalisation cover for the business owner. “SMEs contribute about 70% to our nations GDP every year. We felt it was our duty to take care of this segment by providing an affordable protection cover to assure the continuity of their business, while letting them focus on the growth of the business. The safeguards that this product presents, can empower and inspire confidence in the owners of small and medium enterprises to maintain business continuity despite significant setbacks caused by, for example, fire or storms,” said Nazeem Ghaffoor, Assistant General Manager Sales and Distribution, Amãna Takaful PLC. He continued: “SMEs face a different set of exposures and needs. From instances of damaged stock to disruptions due to technology or utility failure, Business Cover by Amãna Takaful will take care of small to medium enterprises to protect them from an array of contingencies that could arise.” With 22 Amãna Takaful branches island-wide, customers have merely to contact their closest branch to set up this cover for their businesses.
