Adrian Perera appointed to Adam Investments Plc and Adam Capital Plc boards

Adam Investments Plc and Adam Capital Plc appointed W.A. Adrian Perera to its board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Perera is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA-UK), a Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and a Fellow of the Certified Professional Managers Sri Lanka. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Post Graduate Institute of Management University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

Perera started his career at Hatton National Bank Plc, where he held positions in Information Technology, Treasury, general banking and finance before moving to Ranfer Teas as the group’s Financial Controller and later joining Lanka ORIX Leasing Company Plc as Assistant General Manager Group Treasury.

Subsequently, Perera joined Rhino Roofing Products Ltd. as the Chief Financial Officer and in 2009 joined RAM Rating Lanka Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer which was subsequently acquired by local companies and renamed Lanka Rating Agency Ltd. Currently he works as the Chief Operating Officer at equiCapital Investments Ltd, a boutique investment house.

Perera was a past council member of the CIMA (UK) Sri Lanka division and he is also a governing council member of the Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka, the national management accounting body and the Vice President of the Member Network panel of ACCA Sri Lanka and Vice President of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, Perera is Chairman of the ACCA Sustainability Awards Committee, Chairman of CMA Sri Lanka’s IT and Journal Committee and a member of the Board of Management of the Integrated Reporting Council of Sri Lanka.

Perera has attended training programs in Sri Lanka and abroad which deal extensively with the capital market and general management. He has been a paper presenter at the South Asia Federation Accountants (SAFA) conferences in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan and he is a member of the SAFA Integrated Reporting Awards Committee.
