Vindhya Jayasekera appointed Deputy CEO of Wealth Trust Securities

Wealth Trust Securities PLC has appointed Vindhya Jayasekera as Deputy Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 October, 2026.

Jayasekera is an experienced investment management and capital markets professional with over two decades of experience spanning investment banking, asset management, investment strategy, financial markets and capital market development in Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining Wealth Trust Securities, Jayasekera served as CEO-Designate of the Colombo Stock Exchange, working across the Colombo Stock Exchange, Central Depository Systems and CSE Clear. 

During her tenure, she contributed to strategic and operational priorities across the three institutions, including initiatives relating to new product development, debt market enhancements, institutional capacity building and broader capital market development.

Previously, she spent nearly 15 years at NDB Wealth Management, where she served as Chief Investment Officer. In this capacity, she led investment strategy and governance across equity and fixed-income portfolios at Sri Lanka’s largest private-sector fund manager, overseeing assets under management exceeding Rs. 380 billion during her tenure.

Jayasekera commenced her career in capital markets at NDB Investment Bank, gaining experience in initial public offerings, private placements, securitisations and project finance. She was part of the teams involved in two of the largest IPOs undertaken on the Colombo Stock Exchange at the time. In 2007, she also worked at Lehman Brothers in New York as a Summer Associate under the Fulbright-Lehman Brothers Outstanding New Leaders in Finance programme.

More recently, she has undertaken advisory assignments in capital markets and financial services and has served as a short-term consultant to the World Bank Group. She has also contributed to financial-market education as a visiting lecturer and resource person for universities, regulators and professional institutions.

Her broader industry and regulatory involvement includes serving as a member of the Presidential Taskforce for Protecting Minority Investors in 2022.

Jayasekera is a CFA Charterholder, a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and an ACMA/CGMA. A Fulbright Scholar, she holds an MSc in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received a medal for academic excellence, and a BSc in Civil Engineering with First-Class Honours from the University of Moratuwa.
