The Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL), in strategic partnership with Port City Colombo, will host the FinTech World Cup (FWC) Regional Competition on 23 April from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Port City Colombo.
The FWC, organised by Trescon and powered by Ignyte, is a globally recognised platform aimed at accelerating the growth of fintech startups. The competition gives local innovators the chance to showcase their solutions on an international stage, with top finalists advancing to the Grand Finale at the Dubai FinTech Summit on 13 May.
The Dubai FinTech Summit, organised by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and managed by Trescon, is held under the patronage of Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Finance Minister Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
As an official Association Partner of the Dubai FinTech Summit 2025, FASL plays a vital role in connecting Sri Lanka’s growing fintech ecosystem with the global financial innovation community.
The Sri Lankan Regional Competition is further supported by Tech London Advocates (TLA) and Global Tech Advocates (GTA) – Sri Lanka Group, and the Sri Lanka Chapter of the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM), based in Colorado, USA.
This initiative highlights Sri Lanka’s most promising fintech startups, offering them a unique opportunity to gain global exposure, attract investment, and build strategic partnerships. It also reinforces the vision of our strategic partner, Port City Colombo, to establish itself as a leading offshore financial centre and regional business hub – while playing a pivotal role in positioning Sri Lanka as a globally recognised destination for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Beyond the competition, participants will benefit from mentorship, high-level networking, and access to global markets – equipping them to help shape the future of financial technology.
