The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Conclave Awards held on 29 August in Delhi brought together distinguished leaders from across the region to exchange insights and celebrate excellence in banking and finance.
Sri Lanka was represented by Central Bank of Sri Lanka Deputy Governor J.P.R. Karunaratne who attended the occasion as a Guest of Honour, and Association of Professional Bankers (APB) – Sri Lanka President Anton Arumugam, who was invited to share his expertise as both a speaker and a panellist.
In their addresses, both leaders highlighted the importance of fostering cross-border knowledge sharing and regional collaboration to strengthen financial stability and growth. A significant milestone of the event was the signing of an agreement between APB and ICC to promote knowledge exchange and build stronger regional partnerships, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s commitment to playing an active role on the international stage.
The APB also continues to expand its global footprint, forging partnerships with the Nepal Bankers Association and the Sri Lanka Bankers Association in Dubai, further strengthening its mission to build regional networks of knowledge and cooperation. Adding to Sri Lanka’s representation, APB Senior Vice President Dilshan Perera, also joined the delegation, marking a collective effort to position APB as a bridge between Sri Lanka’s banking professionals and the wider international community.
This participation not only elevated Sri Lanka’s presence at a prestigious global forum but also underscored the pivotal role of Sri Lankan banking professionals in shaping regional financial discourse.
