The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Monday approved awarding the contract for Aviation Insurance Policies and Aviation Insurance Services of SriLankan Airlines Ltd., for Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd.
Following national competitive bids invited under the National Competitive Procurement Procedure to obtain four Aviation Insurance Policies from 11 August 2025 to 10 August 2026 and to provide Aviation Insurance Services from 11 August 2025 to 10 August 2028 for Sri Lankan Airlines Ltd., three bids were received.
“Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd., was the substantially responsive evaluated bidder as recommended by the Bid Evaluation Committee and the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee,” Cabinet Spokesman and Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said at the weekly post-Cabinet meeting media briefing on Tuesday.
The proposal to this effect submitted by President Anura Kumara Disanayake in his capacity as the Finance, Planning and Economic Development was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
