Sri Lanka Insurance Life, for over six decades, has built its strength through financial resilience, customer centricity, disciplined governance, nationwide reach and a continuous commitment to creating long-term value for its policyholders. Strength in life insurance is built over time, through the ability to honour commitments, protect policyholders, respond to changing needs and remain resilient.

With a legacy spanning more than six decades, Sri Lanka Insurance Life today stands on a strong financial foundation, anchored by the largest Life Fund in Sri Lanka’s life insurance industry at Rs. 247 billion and an asset base of Rs. 275 billion. Its disciplined fund management and long term investment approach continue to create value for policyholders.

This strength is reflected in its longstanding bonus track record. The latest declaration of Rs. 14.68 billion in bonuses for its policyholders in 2025, bringing cumulative bonuses declared since 2006 to Rs. 131.28 billion, further demonstrates the Company’s commitment to delivering long term value to participating policyholders.

“Sri Lanka Insurance Life continues to demonstrate resilience, strength, and long term stability. These achievements are a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our people, whose efforts have been instrumental in delivering sustainable growth while contributing meaningfully to national economic progress,” said Sri Lanka Insurance Chairman Nusith Kumaratunga.

The strength of an insurer extends beyond its financial foundation. At SLIC Life, customer centricity is at the heart of the organisation’s approach, influencing how products are developed, services are delivered and relationships with policyholders are strengthened.

With more than 230 customer touchpoints across the country, comprising its branch network and other customer service locations, SLIC Life maintains a strong presence close to the communities it serves. This reach, supported by its agency and bancassurance channels, enables Sri Lanka Insurance Life to remain accessible to customers across Sri Lanka.

Customer centricity is also driving SLIC Life’s digital transformation. Investments in eKYC, digital signatures, document management, core systems and automation are streamlining customer journeys and service delivery. Building on these developments, SLIC Life has enhanced and reintroduced its customer mobile application as SLIC Life Pulse, while its Customer Portal has been refreshed with a new look and feel and enhanced features, providing customers with greater convenience and easier access to their insurance services.

“Our continued focus on customer centricity and operational excellence has positioned us strongly for sustained growth in the years ahead. We remain committed to delivering long term value to customers, stakeholders and the nation,” said SLIC Life CEO Dr. Sameera Dharmasena.

For SLIC Life, strength is also grounded in the way it conducts its business. Strong governance, accountability, regulatory discipline and responsible business practices remain fundamental to the organisation’s operations, supported by internationally recognised certifications including ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO 14064-1:2018.

As the national Life Insurer, SLIC Life carries a responsibility that extends beyond its commercial role. Through Pasal Piriyatha Surakimu, which has benefited more than 3,365 underprivileged schools, and the Suba Pathum Scholarship Program, which has awarded more than 2,425 scholarships valued at over Rs. 265 million, SLIC Life continues to invest in the future of the country. Its annual World Children’s Day initiative, which provides free life insurance cover to parents of newborns, further reflects its commitment to strengthening financial security for families.

The strength of SLIC Life, therefore, is not built on one achievement alone. It is built through financial resilience, customer centricity, prudent management, strong governance, nationwide accessibility, digital progress, internationally recognised standards and a commitment to the communities it serves.

As Sri Lanka Insurance Life looks to the future, it remains focused on strengthening customer confidence, delivering enduring value and continuing to stand alongside Sri Lankan families through every stage of life.
