Resus Energy PLC has announced the dual listing of its Rs. 1 billion Green Bond on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) and its display on the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX), effective 19 October 2026.

With this milestone, Resus Energy becomes the first non-financial corporate issuer from Sri Lanka to be featured on LGX, the sustainable finance platform operated by LuxSE.

The dual listing follows the issuance and listing of the Bond on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in July 2025 and marks Sri Lanka’s first-ever Green Bond issuance by a non-banking and finance company and the first by a local energy company, with NDB Investment Bank Limited acting as the Financial Advisor and Manager to the transaction. The listing is a significant step for the company and for Sri Lanka’s growing sustainable finance market.

Launched by the Luxembourg Stock Exchange in 2016, LGX was the world’s first platform dedicated exclusively to green, social and sustainable securities. Being displayed on LGX increases the international visibility of Resus Energy PLC’s Green Bond among ESG-focused investors and demonstrates how a Sri Lankan renewable energy company can meet international expectations for green finance disclosure.

Sri Lanka’s presence on LGX has grown steadily, led primarily by financial institutions. Resus Energy PLC’s listing marks the entry of a company directly involved in developing and operating renewable energy assets into this group, providing international investors with an opportunity to support capital investment in clean power generation.

“Bringing our Green Bond to the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the Luxembourg Green Exchange is a proud milestone for Resus Energy PLC and for Sri Lanka. It confirms that a Sri Lankan renewable energy company can meet the highest international standards of sustainable finance. It also connects the projects powering our national grid with investors around the world who want their capital to make a measurable climate impact,” saidManaging Director Kishan Nanayakkara.

The listing comes as Sri Lanka works toward ambitious national targets. Under its updated Nationally Determined Contributions, the country has committed to generating 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and to making electricity generation carbon neutral by 2050.

The Green Bond issue comprised up to 10 Million Listed, Rated, Unsecured, Senior Redeemable Green Bonds of Rs. 100 each, in two tenors: Type A, four years at a fixed annual coupon of 11.55%; and Type B, five years at a fixed annual coupon of 11.75%

Fitch Ratings Lanka Limited rated the bond A-(lka). The bond was structured in line with international sustainability standards, and all of its proceeds are committed to developing renewable energy projects.

More than 55% of the proceeds are allocated to developing 8 MW of new solar capacity, expected to deliver approximately 15 GWh of clean electricity annually to the national grid and avoid approximately 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
