As part of the project to modernise its branch network, the RDB Bank, has relocated its Kanagarayankulam branch in the Northern Province to the Puthukkudiyiruppu town on 17 November 2025. This strategic move marks another milestone in RDB’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer convenience and strengthen its presence across the nation. The new premises are designed to provide a modern banking experience, combining comfort, efficiency, and digital accessibility for its valued clientele.
The opening ceremony of the new premises was held under the patronage of RDB Bank Chairman Lasantha Fernando and General Manager/Chief Executive Officer Dr. Asanga Tennakoon.
With the aim of improving customer service and operational efficiency, RDB Bank has officially shifted its branch to a modern environment and a location with new facilities. The new location, located at No. 7, Word Place, Mullaitivu Road, Puthukkudiyiruppu, offers improved infrastructure, expanded customer services and banking facilities.
RDB Bank Chairman Lasantha Fernando said, “Particularly in this Puthukkudiyiruppu area, paddy cultivation, vegetable cultivation and fruit cultivation are carried out on a large scale. In addition to these cultivations, the new coconut triangle is currently spreading widely up to Puthukkudiyiruppu. The bank invites customers to visit this new branch location, where door-to-door services, other savings and financial services, and innovative digital banking services including mobile banking will continue to be provided uninterrupted. The bank also assures that existing account numbers, customer information, and services will remain unchanged.
The ceremony was grandly organised by the branch manager S. Sudeepan and the branch staff, under the guidance of RDB Bank Head of Business Operations Dr. Bandula De Silva, Regional General Manager for the Northern, North Central, and Eastern Provinces M.M.M.S. Ananda, and District Manager Kilinochchi R.G.G. Gunawardena.
