RDB Bank has announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors, effective from 22 October 2025. The newly appointed Board brings together a team of experienced professionals with diverse expertise in finance, development, governance, and management to guide the bank towards achieving its strategic vision of empowering entrepreneurs and financial inclusion.

Chanura Wijetillake is an expert banking professional with over 35 years of experience, including 14 years in Senior and Corporate Management at the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, where he specialised in lending, compliance, and branch administration. He played a key role in introducing a Risk-Based Compliance Framework and Audit System, as well as driving sales and profit growth across major regions. A respected trainer and resource person, he has contributed to programs for branch managers, credit officers, and the Central Bank’s Centre for Banking Studies. Following his retirement, he served as Assistant General Manager – Compliance at Softlogic Finance PLC and as a Non-Executive Independent Director at People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, chairing and serving on several key board committees. Wijetillake is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the International Professional Managers Association (UK), a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, and holds a Diploma in Management from ICFAI University, India

Ranjith Kodituwakku is a distinguished banking professional with over 40 years of leadership and governance experience, having served as Chief Executive Officer of People’s Bank and Chairman of several key institutions, including the Financial Ombudsman, Lanka Financial Services Bureau, and People’s Travels. His extensive career includes directorships at People’s Leasing and Finance, People’s Insurance PLC, PMF Finance PLC, Lanka Alliance Finance Ltd., (Bangladesh), Credit Information Bureau, Lanka Pay Ltd., and the Sri Lanka Banks’ Association, as well as contributions to the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and the National Payment Council. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Colombo, an LLB from the UK, is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, and a Certified Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.
