People’s Insurance PLC hosted an event on 26 July to recognise and reward its top sales performers, while also giving special recognition to achievements in sports, other talents demonstrated during the year 2024, and long service awards for employees with over 15 years of service. The event was held at the Monarch Imperial.
The “Achievers’ Night” was graced by the presence of People’s Insurance Founder and Former Managing Director D.P. Kumarage, present and past members of the Board of Directors, CEO Jeevani Kariyawasam, senior management from the People’s Group, and staff members from across the company. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Chairman’s Award to the Best Sales Achiever of the Year, in recognition of exceptional dedication and performance.
A special moment of the evening was the heartfelt felicitation of People’s Insurance Founder D.P. Kumarage, whose leadership and foresight laid the strong foundation for the company’s success.
CEO Kariyawasam acknowledged the challenges of the past year—including the lingering effects of the pandemic and economic recession—and praised the team’s collective dedication, which enabled the company to emerge as one of the most profitable in the General Insurance industry. She also extended her heartfelt thanks to both the present and past Boards of Directors for their continued guidance and support throughout the company’s journey. She expressed pride in the company’s shared values and commended team members for making a meaningful impact in customers’ lives through their unwavering commitment and service excellence.
A standout moment of the evening was the official launch of “People’s Insurance Buddy”, the company’s brand-new customer service chatbot. Developed to enhance customer engagement and provide faster, more efficient support, the chatbot symbolises People’s Insurance PLC’s ongoing drive for digital innovation and superior customer service.
