People’s Bank holds religious programs to mark 64th anniversary

People’s Bank commemorated its 64th anniversary, which fell on 1 of July, with a series of multi-religious programs organised by the bank’s Buddhist Association, Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis, and Christian Guild. The religious observances took place at the Bank’s Head Office premises in Colombo 02 and were attended by a large gathering of staff members.

In keeping with tradition, the Buddhist Association organised an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony on 27 June, followed by an alms-giving (Dana) on 28 Juen for 64 Bhikkhus.

On 1 July, religious observances were conducted by the bank’s Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis, and Christian Guild, marking the anniversary with blessings from all major faiths. These ceremonies were held with the intention of invoking blessings upon the country, its people, the bank’s valued customers, and its founders.
