People’s Bank facilitates digitalisation of stamp duty payments in Central Province

In line with the Government’s National Digital Economy Strategy 2025–2030, People’s Bank has extended digital banking facilities to support the Central Provincial Revenue Department in digitalising the stamp duty payment process, marking an important step towards modernising public revenue collection services.

The digitalised process was officially inaugurated by the Central Province Governor Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando. The occasion was attended by Central Provincial Chief Secretary H.G.M.A. Premasinghe, Revenue Commissioner K.G.P.J. Katupulla, and representatives of People’s Bank, including Assistant Regional Manager B.S.K. Priyadarshana and Chief Manager of Kandy Branch Prasanna Karunarathne. Officials from the Digitalisation Department, Revenue Department and Central Provincial Council were also present at the event.

Through this initiative, People’s Bank further strengthens its role in supporting the country’s digital transformation by facilitating efficient, convenient and technology-driven public services.
