In celebration of World Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day, People’s Bank hosted the ‘Entrepreneurial Glory 2025 and MSME Trade Fair’ on 27 and 28 June at the Gampaha Municipal Council Stadium.

The two-day event brought together a vibrant array of exhibitors, showcasing a diverse range of products and services. Highlights included household electrical appliances, eco-friendly innovations, electric vehicles, solar energy solutions, processed food and beverages, spices, garments, textiles, and footwear. Complementing the exhibition were a series of value-added activities, including expert-led seminars on entrepreneurship, advisory sessions, awareness programs on specialised loan schemes, live entertainment, and the official launch of the bank’s newly introduced SME Credit Card.

The event was inaugurated with the presence of People’s Bank Chairman Prof. Narada Fernando, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka, and Deputy General Manager – SME, Development and Micro Finance Wickrama Narayana, along with members of the bank’s corporate and executive management team. Also in attendance were Mayor of Gampaha Eric Lakshman Ediriwickrama, District Secretary Lalinda Gamage, and several other distinguished Government representatives and officials.

As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth, People’s Bank plans to extend this initiative through a series of regional MSME trade fairs across the island. These events will offer micro, small, and medium-scale entrepreneurs an invaluable platform to exhibit their offerings, connect with broader markets, and access vital financial and advisory support.
