New Acting CEO at People’s Leasing and Finance

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Rajapaksa Pathiranage

Udesh Priyadarshana Gunawardena as the Acting Chief Executive Officer/General Manager for an interim period.

Gunawardena, the current Chief Operating Officer (COO), joined the company on 19 September 1999 and was promoted to his present position as COO with effect from 1 November 2022. 

Before assuming the current position, he performed duties in the capacity of Accountant/Deputy Manager Finance, Manager Finance, Senior Manager Treasury and MIS and Head of Internal Audit. His extensive knowledge and experience in the subject have been instrumental in streamlining the operational processes in the company and ensure that the company’s operational needs are met efficiently.

Gunawardena’s acting appointment follows the resignation of Shamindra Marcelline, who held the CEO post since November 2020.
