As part of its continued effort to expand its reach and for financial advocacy in Sri Lanka, Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC recently opened the doors to its 80th branch in the picturesque setting of Nuwara Eliya. The branch opening carried great significance for Mercantile Investments because of its relationship with the iconic Grand Hotel Nuwara-Eliya. The heritage hotel is owned and operated by the Hotels Company, which is an associate company of Mercantile Investments

The launch event was held under the auspices of Mercantile Investments Managing Director Gerad Ondaatjie, COO Laksanda Gunawardena and other senior members of the management team. A few customers and other distinguished guests from the local community were also present. The fact that the 80th branch was also opened in the same city as the hotel was both a meaningful and celebratory moment for the group. Many officials from the Grand Hotel also attended the event, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflected collaboration and progress.

As always, the new Mercantile Investments branch in Nuwara-Eliya, will offer the gamut of trusted financial services, including leasing, gold loans, fixed deposits and children’s savings, each designed to meet the requirements of individuals, families and businesses in the area. With a legacy built on innovation and customer growth, the company continues to expand its reach across the nation, while staying true to its mission of providing inclusive, accessible and reliable financial solutions to communities from all walks of life.

The Nuwara-Eliya branch both reflects the company’s strategic growth and reinforces its deep connection within the associated companies as it continues to support financial empowerment and regional development.
