Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana joins Union Bank Board

Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana

Union Bank of Colombo PLC has appointed Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana to its Board as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director.

Dhungana is a banker with more than 30 years of experience in the Nepalese financial sector, including 10 years at the Nepal Rastra Bank, the country’s central bank. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Tribhuvan University, a Chartered Accountancy qualification from ICAI India, and a Master’s in Financial Analysis from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

From 2022 to 2025, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank Ltd. Before that, he was CEO of Nepal Bangladesh Bank for a decade. At Nepal Rastra Bank, between 2001 and 2011, he held several senior positions.
