Dr. Dewasiri Jayantha becomes CEO of PMF Finance

PMF Finance PLC has appointed Dr. Dewasiri Jayantha as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 3 March 2026.

Dr. Jayantha is a Professor in Finance (on Merit) at the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. He currently serves as the President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and the Brand Ambassador for South Asia of Emerald Publishing.

With over 17 years of senior industry experience prior to entering academia, he brings a distinctive blend of practical financial leadership and scholarly excellence. He was a member of the pioneering team that introduced triangulation-based research approaches to the finance discipline in 2019, enhancing methodological rigour and advancing empirical standards within the field.

Dr. Dewasiri holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Colombo, an MSc in Applied Finance and a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and a BA (Hons) in Business from Wrexham Glyndŵr University, UK.

He has authored and co-authored over 100 internationally indexed research publications, spanning strategy, corporate finance, corporate governance, sustainable finance, financial stability, and emerging-market development.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). He holds the designation of Chartered Manager (CMgr, UK) and is an active member of SLIM. In addition to his national leadership roles, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (UAE) and Chandigarh University (India). His professional and research expertise encompasses strategy formulation, corporate governance, sustainable finance, financial sector resilience, and institutional transformation.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has approved the appointment.
