Dinesh Dharmadasa appointed to LB Finance Board

LB Finance has appointed Dinesh Dharmadasa to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Dharmadasa is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK. He commenced his career as a finance professional at KPMG and subsequently joined Ceylon Tobacco PLC (CTC), a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT), in 1990 at the level of Finance Manager, and rose to the position of Director – Corporate and Regulatory Affairs in 2005. He completed his illustrious career at CTC in 2019.

As Director of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs and also as a Senior Member of the Executive Committee/Company Secretary, Dharmadasa oversaw the areas of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, trade and fiscal affairs, internal and external communications, CSR and sustainable business initiatives.

Dharmadasa also served as the Chairman of the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka from 2016 to 2018. During his tenure, he developed strong links with stakeholders, public sector officials, multilateral agencies based in Sri Lanka, and local and overseas Chambers, formulating strategies for balanced and steady industrial growth. He also served as a Board Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce during the periods 2012 to 2014 and 2016 to 2018, and as a Board Member of CIMA – Sri Lanka in 2016.

Dharmadasa currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HNB General Insurance Limited, BPPL Holdings PLC and Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC.
