The Board of Directors of Co-operative Insurance Company PLC has announced the appointment of Dayasumana Gamage as the Acting Managing Director and Acting Principal Officer with the approval of Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka, effective 29 October 2025. He will continue to serve as the Vice Chairman of the Company.
Gamage is a seasoned professional in the Cooperative Administrative Service, with over 35 years of distinguished service in the Cooperative sector. He previously served as Cooperative Commissioner, where he played a leading role in strengthening co-operative institutions and administrative frameworks across the country.
With this appointment, Co-operative Insurance Company PLC fulfils the statutory requirement for the position of Principal Officer, further reinforcing the Company’s commitment to regulatory compliance, good governance, and long-term sustainability.
As Vice Chairman, Gamage has demonstrated outstanding leadership and a deep understanding of the Company’s core business dynamics. His strategic insight and proactive approach have been instrumental in enhancing the Company’s captive business within the Cooperative sector and driving consistent business performance.
