  • Further listings on India International Exchange and Luxembourg Green Exchange expand global visibility

DFCC Bank PLC yesterday announced the further listing of its Blue Bond on two international exchanges, expanding the instrument’s global visibility while maintaining trading through the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

The Bond, already listed on the CSE and the National Stock Exchange International Exchange (NSE IX) in India, was listed on the India International Exchange (India INX) at GIFT City on 10 March 2026.

The listing on India INX is on the Global Securities Market and will not involve admission to trading on that exchange.

DFCC Bank also said the bond will be registered on the Securities Official List of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and displayed on the Luxembourg Green Exchange on 12 March 2026. The bank noted that the registration on the Securities Official List will similarly be without admission to trading.

Despite the additional international listings, trading and settlement of the bond will continue to take place through the Colombo Stock Exchange and will remain denominated in Sri Lankan rupees.

DFCC Bank’s Blue Bond is Sri Lanka’s first. The Rs. 3 billion issuance aimed at financing projects linked to the protection and sustainable use of ocean and coastal resources.

The bond, which carries an expected rating of ‘A(EXP)(lka)’ from Fitch Ratings, is intended to support initiatives including clean drinking water infrastructure, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, marine renewable energy, eco-friendly coastal tourism, wastewater management, climate adaptation for coastal communities, and environmentally sustainable marine transportation.

The Blue Bond builds on DFCC Bank’s earlier sustainability financing initiatives. In 2024, the bank issued Sri Lanka’s first Green Bond, which was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, the Luxembourg Green Exchange and the NSE International Exchange at GIFT City in India.
