The popular annual Taxation Course organised by CIMA for its members and other professionals will commence on Saturday 26 September. 

This year’s CIMA Mastercourse on Taxation will feature a detailed analysis of the Income Tax Act which is now imperative to taxpayers, with emphasis on the proposed changes to the Income Tax Act such as removal of WHT and the introduction of alternative WHT scheme, new exemptions and the transitional adjustments for the year of assessment 2019/2020. Further, the course will focus on recent changes on Value Added Tax and the removal of Nation Building Tax and Economic Service Charge including the impact of such changes. 

The course will also cover the imposition of stamp duty and certain other tax implications under finance acts. The taxation course which runs for 10 Saturdays attracts participants from various professions and from all parts of the island. Participants have the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of Sri Lanka taxation from experts in the industry.
