CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards tonight

The CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards 2025, the flagship event recognising excellence in Sri Lanka’s capital markets, takes place this evening at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams Sri Lanka at 6 p.m.

Now in its 12th year, the prestigious event celebrates outstanding contributions to investment research, investor relations, and sustainability reporting in the country.

The event is graced by various dignitaries from the industry from business leaders, regulators, professional bodies to charterholders, including Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka Chairman Senior Professor Hareendra Dissabandara, and the Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Dimuthu Abeyesekera, underscoring its stature in the national financial calendar.

CFA Society Sri Lanka President Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane said: “A flagship event in the CFA calendar, the CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards brings together regulators, stockbrokers, analysts, CFA charterholders, and senior management of listed companies — all pivotal cogs in capital markets.”

This year, the traditional panel discussion evolves into an engaging fireside chat, offering an insightful conversation on market dynamics and economic outlooks in a more dynamic format.

The session features Advocata Institute CEO Dhananath Fernando, and Frontier Research Head of Macroeconomic Advisory Chayu Damsinghe. The forecast quiz, previously a standalone segment, has also been integrated into this interactive session, enhancing audience engagement while delivering expert insights in an accessible format.

Awards will be presented in six categories: Best Stockbroking Research Team, Best Equity Research Report, Best Sector Research Report, Best Investor Relations, Best Unit Trust Fund, and Best Sustainability Reporting, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze accolades under each category.
