The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has called for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to establish a pool of liquidators for winding up failed licensed banks and licensed finance companies.
The move will be carried out under the Banking (Special Provisions) Act, No. 17 of 2023, according to a notice issued by the CBSL’s Deposit Insurance and Resolution Department. The CBSL website confirms that the invitation was issued on 23 August.
Interested parties have until 7 September 2026 to submit EOIs, with submissions closing at 3 p.m.
The notice said the appointed liquidators would be used for the winding up of licensed banks and licensed finance companies under the provisions of the Act.
