Bond yields steady in limited trading

The secondary market bond yields remained steady yesterday with only the liquid maturity of 01.06.25 changing hands within the range of 21.20% to 21.25%, while activity on the rest of the yield curve remained muted. 

The total secondary market Treasury bond/bill transacted volume for 22 June 2022 was Rs. 19.20 billion.  

In money markets, the net liquidity deficit registered at Rs. 509.36 billion yesterday while the weighted average rates on overnight Call money and REPO stood at 14.50% each. An amount of Rs. 202.13 billion was deposited at Central Banks SDFR (Standard Deposit Facility Rate) of 13.50% while an amount of Rs. 711.49 billion was withdrawn from Central Banks SLFR (Standard Deposit Facility Rate) of 14.50%.

Forex Market 

In the Forex market, the middle rate for USD/LKR spot contracts remained steady at Rs. 360.90 yesterday.

The total USD/LKR traded volume for 22 June 2022 was $ 39.88 million.
