Assetline Finance appoints Nanda Fernando to Board

Assetline Finance Ltd., has announced the appointment of Nanda Fernando as Independent, Non-Executive Director of the Company. 

Fernando currently serves as a business consultant. A banker with over four decades of experience in banking, he is also the Managing Director of Professional Business Consultants, a company engaged in providing financial planning and advisory services.  In addition, he also serves on the respective Boards of Hatton National Bank PLC, Haycarb PLC, Dipped Products PLC, and Hayleys Fabric PLC. 

Prior to his current role, Fernando was attached to Sampath Bank as its Managing Director where he was reputed for his transformational and visionary skills having served the Bank for 36 years from the year of its inception. 

A Senior Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka, Fernando possesses a Master of Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India. He is a product of S’Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia.  

Incorporated in 2003, AFL is registered under the Finance Leasing Act, No 56 of 2000 as a Finance Leasing Establishment under the specialised leasing company category. Formerly known as Assetline Leasing Company Ltd., the largest specialised leasing company in Sri Lanka, the Company was granted a finance company license under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s Non-Bank Financial Institutions Sector Consolidation Plan in 2022.  

AFL recently received its initial rating of A- with a stable outlook from the Lanka Rating Agency (LRA) reflecting its medium size and solid standing in the lending market. With an island-wide network of 55 branches and 24/7 operated Easy Pay machines servicing customers with an expanded portfolio of leasing products, the Company has remained true to its objective of providing financial inclusion across all target groups. 

AFL is wholly owned by David Pieris Group and operates under the immediate parent company, DPMC Assetline Holdings Ltd. 

AFL’s Board of Directors consists of eminent personalities with extensive knowledge, expertise, and experience in different business fields.
