Asia Securities, Sri Lanka’s leading stockbroker, recently introduced ‘Athena’, the country’s first equity trading platform fully integrated with TradingView, a global charting and analytics solution used by over 100 million investors across 200 countries.
The platform, launched 26 August, combines advanced charting tools, customisable analytics, and real-time execution with Asia Securities’ award winning research, offering a seamless and sophisticated trading experience for local investors.
Speaking at the launch, Asia Securities Chairman, Dumith Fernando said, “Asia Securities is pleased to be the first to introduce such a sophisticated trading platform to Sri Lanka. Athena was designed to deliver both insight and innovation, two of our core values, to our clients. We wanted to go beyond the usual to give you something that brings more sophistication, more analytical insights to your fingertips, and that is what you will find that this tool offers.”
Fernando said that the platform had been in development for over a year and a half, explaining that it was created to bridge a critical gap in the local market. While Sri Lanka had made strides in attracting global investors, he observed that domestic traders still lacked access to the kinds of professional-grade tools available internationally.
“This platform empowers our growing base of online investors, supports the digitalisation of Sri Lanka’s capital market, and aligns it with global standards. Local investors have played an incredible role in creating a vibrant stock market over the last five years. But not a lot has been invested in bringing global tools to our very valued domestic investors, and that’s what we will be doing today with Athena,” he added.
Built on TradingView’s globally trusted charting system and integrated into Asia Securities’ trading ecosystem, Athena enables users to monitor markets, analyse opportunities, and execute trades in real-time, all on a single platform. The solution also provides access to Asia Securities’ research portal, allowing traders to view analyst insights, perform technical analysis, and place orders without switching between applications.
Explaining the value proposition, Asia Securities Head of Sales Sonella Dassanayake said, “Executing orders is just not enough. It is better to have your analysis, research, and the ability to execute trades in real-time. Athena brings these elements together, giving you control, speed and confidence.”
According to Dassanayake, the integration allows traders to execute directly from real-time charts, customise strategies with advanced pricing tools, set alerts, and view market depth within a sleek and intuitive interface.
“For traders, the benefit is immediate. You don’t need to switch between platforms. Everything flows together, reducing complexities and improving efficiency. The result is an enhanced trading experience.”
The platform is aimed at both experienced investors and new entrants to the market, offering intuitive navigation alongside advanced functionalities. Traders can access Athena on Web and mobile, making professional-grade tools available to wider audience than before.
The launch crowns a year of milestones for Asia Securities. The firm emerged as Sri Lanka’s No. 1 stockbroker by turnover market share on the Colombo Stock Exchange, continuing similar achievements in the last few years. It was also named ‘Best Stockbroker – Sri Lanka’ for the sixth time at the FinanceAsia Awards 2025 and saw its research team recognised as ‘Best Stockbroking Research Team’ at the CFA Society Capital Market Awards 2025. These achievements coincide with the firm’s 35th anniversary, underscoring its enduring leadership in the industry.
With Athena, Asia Securities became the first brokerage in Sri Lanka to integrate global-standard technology into local trading infrastructure, setting a new benchmark for digital innovation in the industry.
The Athena platform is now live at asecathena.asiasecurities.lk.
