Amana Bank wins gold at LankaPay Technnovation Awards

Amana Bank announced that they have once again won the Gold Award for Best Common ATM Enabler of the Year (Category C) at the recently concluded LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2025. This recognition is a testament to the Bank’s continued commitment to advancing payment technology and delivering seamless, innovative banking solutions for its customers. 

The LankaPay Technnovation Awards, organised by Sri Lanka’s national payment network LankaPay, recently celebrated its seventh edition, recognising pioneers of technology innovations in the financial services sector of the country. As the only awards dedicated to payment technology innovation in Sri Lanka, the event has become a highly anticipated occasion within the banking community.

The awards ceremony took place on the 26 March, at Shangri-La Colombo, and was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, served as the Chief Guest, alongside Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eng. Eranga Weerarathne, and Chief Advisor to the President on Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, who were the Guests of Honour.

Speaking on the achievement, Amana Bank Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Azmeer stated, “We are extremely honoured to have once again receive this recognition for Best Common ATM Enabler of the Year. This award is a reflection of our ongoing efforts to innovate and provide financial inclusion to our customers through our tech-driven customer outreach model in line with CBSL’s Digital Payment drive. Today Amana Bank has grown its customer locations to 67 including 34 Self Banking Centres which cater to under-served and un-banked customers in remote locations across the country.
