Amana Bank actively participated in the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s (CBSL) Digital Payments Promotion Campaign held recently in Dambulla, under the patronage of Governor Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe and other senior officials.
The initiative, conducted under the theme “Shaping the Future through Digital Payments,” is part of CBSL’s nationwide drive to enhance financial inclusion and encourage the adoption of digital payment methods across the country.
Organised by CBSL together with banks and financial institutions, these campaigns aim to fast-track the adoption of digital banking and payments, in line with the Government’s and CBSL’s broader strategy of fostering sustainable and inclusive growth through digitalisation. They also seek to familiarise Sri Lankans with the safety, convenience, and efficiency of digital transactions as an alternative to cash. Prior to the Dambulla event, Amana Bank extended its support to similar CBSL campaigns held in Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya.
At the event held in Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre, Amana Bank showcased its suite of innovative digital banking solutions, including the ‘Your Bank’ online banking app, its video KYC-enabled Online Account Opening platform, and WhatsApp Banking services. The bank also promoted the use of LankaQR, enabling fast, secure, and convenient cashless transactions via mobile devices.
Amana Bank Asst. Vice President – Deposit Mobilisation and Digital Innovation Arshad Jamaldeen said: “Amana Bank is honoured to once again participate in CBSL’s Digital Payments Campaign, this time in Dambulla, reflecting our dedication to drive accessible and innovative digital banking. These initiatives enable us to strengthen financial inclusion, empower communities and accelerate the transition to a digitally connected Sri Lanka. We are thankful to CBSL for championing this initiative, which is paving the way for wider adoption of safe, efficient, and inclusive digital payments in Sri Lanka.”
