The Association of Professional Bankers (APB) hosted its annual Members’ Day on 23 August at Cinnamon Lakeside, bringing together senior bankers for an evening of fellowship.

This year’s event was held under the backdrop of APB’s continued efforts in international collaboration, exchange of skills, nurturing future bankers, and strengthening partnerships with academic institutions. APB has also been actively engaged in continuous professional development programs and research initiatives, further cementing its role as the premier forum for the Sri Lankan banking community.

In his opening remarks, APB President Anton Arumugam, emphasised that “beyond numbers, transactions and systems, banking is ultimately built on trust, people, and relationships.” In keeping with this vision, the Members’ Day provided a unique platform for networking, enabling professionals from across the industry to engage and strengthen bonds of fellowship.

The evening saw enthusiastic participation from senior members of all banks and their teams, reinforcing APB’s mission of bringing the banking fraternity together under one roof. The Members’ Day concluded on a high note, reflecting APB’s commitment to building not only a resilient banking profession but also a community driven by trust, knowledge, and collaboration.
