AIA Sri Lanka said yesterday it achieved extraordinary recognition across global, regional, and local award platforms in 2025, reflecting the company’s all round excellence in industry leadership.
Being honoured as the ‘Best Life Insurance Company in Sri Lanka’ by both Capital Finance International (CFI) and Global Business and Finance Review (GBFR) for six consecutive years stands as one of the strongest global validations of our operational excellence and leadership in the insurance sector.
AIA’s brand strength was further reinforced when CEO Magazine recognised AIA as the ‘Most Valuable Brand (Insurance)’, an acknowledgment reserved for organisations that consistently demonstrate product leadership, strong propositions, and exceptional market performance. Meanwhile, being ranked ‘#1 in Customer Excellence’ in the LMD Customer Service Excellence Survey 2025 highlights AIA’s commitment to delivering meaningful and seamless customer experiences across both digital and physical touchpoints. Additionally, being named ‘Sri Lanka’s Most Loved Insurer’ in the Corporate Brands Category, as recognised by LMD based on an independent nationwide survey conducted by PepperCube Consultants, further reflects the trust and emotional connection AIA has built with customers across the country.
In 2025, AIA Sri Lanka achieved several significant milestones in workplace excellence, further strengthening its reputation as an employer of choice. The company retained its EDGE Certification for the second consecutive year, remaining the only insurer in the country to hold this recognition, while also being named the Winner in the ‘Insurance, Finance, Investment and Real Estate Sector’ category at the CIPM Great HR Awards.
AIA has continued its strong performance at the Great Place to Work Awards, securing the Best Workplaces Award for the 13th consecutive year. It was also recognised as one of the ‘Best Workplaces in Asia’ for the second year, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing an exceptional employee experience across the region.
Additional accolades awarded to AIA included ‘Best Workplace for Women’ for the eighth consecutive year, ‘Best Workplace for Young Talent for the second time, ‘Industry Excellence for Workplace Culture in the Financial Services and Insurance Sector’, and ‘Excellence in Maximising Human Potential.’
AIA Sri Lanka also successfully met the requirements of the Great Place to Work Trust Index and Culture Audit, ranking among the top organisations assessed. The company was further recognised with the ‘Companies with Great Managers’ award for its focus on leadership and management development.
Ingenuity played a key role in AIA’s 2025 triumphs, with the company securing a Gold at Hashtag Asia and Dragons of Asia for ‘AIA Suwa Walan’, both of which honour the breast cancer awareness campaign that demonstrate exceptional community impact.
In recognition of outstanding leadership. AIA Sri Lanka Director/CEO Chathuri Munaweera continued to earn widespread recognition in 2025 for her exemplary leadership and impact on the insurance and business landscape. She was honoured at the Vanithabhimana Awards 2025 in the Corporate and Professional category, recognising her influence and excellence as a leading woman in business, and was also named a Distinguished Award Winner at the Global CEO Top Businesswomen Awards 2025, celebrating her achievements and contributions to Sri Lanka’s corporate sector. Further reinforcing her global standing, Chathuri was recognised at the Geneva Association’s 52nd General Assembly in 2025 with the prestigious Women in Insurance Award, acknowledging her transformative leadership, commitment to inclusive growth, and role in positioning AIA Sri Lanka as a resilient and purpose led organisation on the world stage.
This is further reflected through the strength and excellence of executive leadership at the Executive Committee level. The CEO’s Forum Award to the Executive Committee, acknowledges leaders who shape corporate success. Chief Financial Officer, Sampath Thushara, was recognised with the ‘Best CFO 2025’ award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, while Chief Marketing Officer, Sasith Bambaradeniya, was recognised among ‘Sri Lanka’s Most Admired Marketing Leaders’ by CMO Asia, a respected platform that identifies leaders who elevate brands.
AIA’s spirit of achievement also extended to individual excellence with multiple honours at the SLIM National Sales Awards, further reinforcing AIA’s position as Sri Lanka’s #1 MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) company. With the highest number of MDRT members across all sales channels, the company continues to set the benchmark for excellence, professionalism, and customer‑centric service in the insurance industry.
Together, these awards and recognitions represent a transformative year for AIA in 2025, showcasing the company’s holistic strength in leadership and social impact. Each accolade reinforces AIA’s purpose driven commitment to uplifting communities, nurturing people, empowering customers, and driving sustainable progress in Sri Lanka’s life insurance landscape.
