Vision Care pays tribute to Sri Lankan artistes

In order to honour all the distinguished artistes in the fields of cinema, tele-drama and music, Vision Care Optical Services Ltd, the leading optical services specialist in Sri Lanka, presented them with the loyalty card ‘Tharu Buhuman’. The event was held with the participation of Jayantha Dharmadasa, chairmen and the members of ‘Cine Star’ and the OSCAR Artistes Association. Going beyond the tradition of simply offering discounts, Vision Care has created a special package exclusively for the artistes which include special benefits. The creation of a special loyalty card named ‘Tharu Buhuman’ instead of the existing loyalty card is itself something unique. The artiste and even his or her spouse have the ability to use the loyalty card and enjoy the various benefits. The privileges can be experienced for purchasing imported spectacles, sun glasses and hearing aids. The concept which was the brainchild of senior marketing manager Shrimanthe Wewalwala developed into a successful program with the support of the Proprietor of the company, Dasantha Fonseka and the board of directors.

“Artistes are outstanding and remarkable people in the society. They bring joy to the lives of people. So they should be admired and honoured. That is why we came forward with this package designed especially for the artistes and created the Tharu Buhuman project,” said Shrimanthe Wewalwala when he addressed the gathering. Kishu Gomez, who delivered the vote of thanks, said that it is a fine effort to gather such a large number of artistes to one place and he further mentioned that the desire to honour artistes by Vision Care should be appreciated. He went on to mention that there will be a time in the lives of each of us when we will have to go and consult an eyecare specialist. Senior Artist Ravindra Randeniya and the Musician Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe also addressed the gathering. Vision Care Optical Services Ltd made a contribution to Cine Star and Oscar Artistes Association.
