An art competition was organised by Multi Finance PLC (MFP) for children below 10 years under the theme of Vesak and Poson festival. This competition was organised under the title ‘Muthuhara savings account – Art competition’ with the aim of developing the savings habit of school children. Being one of the prominent financial institutions of the country, MFP launched this unique promotional campaign last month to signify the importance of the Vesak festival. The art competition saw the many talents of its participants receiving more than 5000 paintings from the MFP branch network scattered island-wide. 10 winners from each branch were selected and each of these young talents was rewarded with a free ‘Muthuhara’ account carrying a credit balance and some other valuable gifts. 2500 of selected contributors were presented with participation certificates for their great effort. Each branch organised an event which was led by their respective branch managers, to distribute savings accounts and gifts for these winners. Multi Finance’s deposit department brought this idea forward with the intentions of spreading the rich cultural texture of Vesak and to improve the savings habit of children, which are the future of the nation.
