Kelvin Speldewinde with band Pressure Drop from Australia at Curve

Aussie reggae band, Pressure Drop with Kelvin Speldewinde will be showcasing their repertoire at Curve – Tapas Restaurant and Bar on 21 January. Pressure Drop, which is popular around the live music venues in Melbourne, was one of the early pioneers of rock steady, ska reggae and dub in Australia and continue to play to full houses across the city and down the surf coast. The five-piece band includes three Sri Lankan members, Kelvin “Rocky” Speldewinde, Keith “Pulse Man” Pereira and Vanessa “Vamp” Speldewinde. They are very excited and keen to showcase their repertoire of original material and covers of the legends, such as Bob Marley, Toots & the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Decker, Third World and others. Pressure Drop offer a new sound to the dance and soul crowd in Melbourne. They write and compose songs of social content, love and promise for the future and are currently recording a new album of original material. The band consists of Bill “Blue Boy” Mitchell on lead guitar and effects, Kelvin “Rocky” Speldewinde on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Peter “Simba” Leerson on bass guitar and vocals, Keith “Pulse Man” Pereira on drums and Vanessa “Vamp” Speldewinde on keyboards, percussion and vocals.
