IOG comes alive with ‘Silk’ and ‘At Last Project’

Colombo’s favourite watering hole and the neighbourhood fun bar in the heart of the city, In on the Green(IOG) is ready to add to its allure with familiar and popular bands ‘At Last Project’ and ‘Silk’, to add to the exciting environment at the IOG. Formed in 2010, Silk presents a selection of music that ranges from the 60s to current hits. Silk consists of two vocalists and four instrumentalists with many years of experience behind them. Christopher Stephen on male vocals who also sings with the Old Joes Choir, Dilini Perera on female vocals who was last year’s TNL Onstage solo category winner and currently a vocal instructor at the Revelations Academy, Shevanka Fernando on bass guitar, Thanushan Abeywickrama on keyboards, Pranil Perera on lead guitar and Shehan Wijemanne on drums make up this dynamic band. The trio performing will consist of Shehan, Kanchana and Pranil on Thursday nights

from 8 p.m. onwards, starting 18 September 2014. ‘At Last Project’ comprises of Dilan Jayakody, Chandimal Fernando and Naomi Wijemmane. With over 10 years experience in the local English music scene Dilan was also the Best Male Vocalist at TNL Onstage 2003 and was a nominee for Best Male Musician at the Yes FM Home Grown Awards 2013. With roots in gospel music, R&B, soul and blues singer, Naomi has been performing live in the Pub/Hotel circuit for the past four years. The trio will perform on Fridays starting on 19 September 2014 from 8 p.m. onwards In on the Green has recently introduced many theme nights to its offering with Sixes on Mondays with great breaks for groups of six, Open Mic Nights which is the most popular among revelers is now on Tuesday nights with whopping discounts on total bills for customers in their favourite sports team jerseys, Quiz Nights with Dominc Kellar on Wednesday, Hat party with Silk coming alive on Thursday, ‘At Last Project’ on Auction Evenings on Friday, Ladies Night on Saturday nights and 80s music on Sunday nights. The Gastro Bar also features Happy Hours from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m, a great option to bring your friends or make new ones while enjoying the live music;
