Four talented young artists win tour to Hong Kong Disneyland

Bank of Ceylon Disneyland Art Competition concluded successfully on 31 October at Battaramulla ‘Ape Gama’ premises. The exhibition attracted 10,000 school children and parents. The prize giving of the National Level winners, which included colourful performances, was an enjoyable experience for the audience. The competition was held under four categories: Category I- Pre School Category II- Year 1 to 5 Category III- Year 6 to 10 Category VI- Year 11 to 13 The art competition attracted over 100,000 paintings from all parts of the country. It was organised jointly with the Education Ministry and an esteemed panel of judges from the Ministry were involved in selecting the national level winners. National level winners of the four categories are Priyamali Priyadarshani of Godapitiya Central College – Akuressa, Hanshanika Sarangi of school for differently abled Tangalle, Yasasi Hansina of Sri Sangamiththa Balika VIdyalaya Col-10 and K.A.G.S. Sehansa of little tots Montessori, Rajagiriya. Schools of the National 1st place winners received cash prizes of Rs. 15,000 each. National level 2nd place winner was awarded Rs. 100,000, a gold medal and a certificate whilst the school received a cash price of Rs. 10,000. The 3rd place winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, a gold medal and a certificate whilst the school received Rs. 5000. The bank also awarded 40 merit awards for four categories at the National Level. At provincial level, 1st place winner was awarded Rs. 20,000, a certificate and Rs. 15,000 for the school. 2nd Place and 3rd place winners received Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively and valuable certificates. Each school of 2nd and 3rd place winners received Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively. The bank wishes to congratulate all provincial and National level winners on their achievements. Bankers to the nation, Bank of Ceylon organised this Disneyland Art Competition and exhibition in commemoration of its 75th Anniversary.
