CameraLK Awards Ceremony

Five years since its official entrance to the world of photography, CameraLK has evolved into more than independent retailers of camera equipment. Expanding from sale of cameras to associated professional and consumer accessories, CameraLk launched it’s Academy, conducting workshops, and training for photography enthusiasts. On February 27, 2015, CameraLK hosted its first “CameraLK Awards Ceremony’ honouring its students, faculty and industry veterans’. The gala event was held at the BMICH, Colombo with Hon. Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka attending as the Chief Guest. Twenty students from the Ministry of Technology and Research received their certificates of recognition and awards that evening.  Special guests, Mr. Dhanuska Ramanayake – Director ITN, Mr. Henry Rajakaurna, Surgeon Rear Admiral Lalith Ekanayake, Mr. Berty Gunasekara and Professor Patrick Ratnayake were invited to present certificates and awards. The evening was not only about cameras and photography; there was also musical entertainment and performances. Speaking at the event, Director Anushka Gunasinghe emphasized the focus of developing and advancing the photography field in Sri Lanka.  CameraLk has also conducted training sessions at academic institutions including Royal College and Isipathana Vidyalaya, and University of Kelaniya recognizing the importance of enabling the future generations to appreciate and practice the art of photography. Guests the Awards ceremony described CameraLK as providing the opportunity for those who wish to improve their knowledge and skill of the art of photography.
