The 5th Chinese Film Festival this week in Colombo

The 5th Chinese Film Festival, organised by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka, will be held from tomorrow until 26 January at Tharangani Hall of the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka.  

Six highly acclaimed Chinese films featuring genres such as science fiction, gangster violence, cartoon, action and family are to be screened free to the public. The films include the Wandering Earth, the top box office sci-fi film in China in 2020, the Great Wall, directed by world-renown director Zhang Yimou and Skiptrace, a classic Jackie Chan movie. 

The screening schedule is as follows:

• A Journey to the Seaside, 6:00 p.m. on 23 January 2020
• The Great Wall, 6:00 p.m. on 24 January 2020 
• Extraordinary Mission, 10:30 a.m. on 25 January 2020
• Skiptrace, 2:00 p.m. on 25 January 2020 
• The Wandering Earth, 6:00 p.m. on 25 January 2020 
• Animal Rescue Squad 10:00 a.m. on 26 January 2020
