Sunanda Kodagoda Song Composer Winner of Colombo District Literature Competition

Sunanda Kodagoda won the First Place in Song (Open) Segment of Colombo District Literature Competition conducted by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Colombo District Secretariat concurrently with the National Art Festival-2021. 

Kodagoda also secured the First Place of Song (Open) Segment and third place of Short Stories Writing (Open) events in the Regional Literature Competition-2021, which conducted by the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat.   Kodagoda was able to secure the First Place of Colombo District Literature Competition and Poetry (Open) Segment in the Maharagama Regional Literature Competitions in 2017, 2018 and 2020 and this time his ‘Budun Vandina Ath Osawa’ song won the First Place in the Open segment at Literature Competition. 

Kodagoda being a poet, song composer, journalist and veteran photographer, has gained several conquests in the fields of literature and photography in earlier occasions too, and he was a Deputy Manager of People’s Bank and currently serves as an Officer of the National Carrom Selection Committee of the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka and as a media officer. 

The award ceremony of the Colombo District Literature Art Festival was held under the patronage of Ministry of Home Affairs Secretary N.H.M. Chitrananda at the auditorium of Colombo District Secretariat, in line with COVID-19 health guidelines.
