Lankan dancers dazzle at International Youth and Culture Festival in Bursa, Türkiye

The Sri Lanka Embassy in Ankara announced Sri Lanka’s participation at the 5th Şahinkaya International Youth and Culture Festival, held in Bursa from 12 to 17 May.

Organised by Şahinkaya Private Educational Institutions, the festival brought together international youth performers to celebrate cultural diversity and promote friendship through music and dance from several countries, including Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka was represented by 14 students from the Lakshman Manchanayaka Dance Academy, with performers of ages ranging from 13 to 17 years. The group performed a sequence of vibrant traditional Sri Lankan dances on 15 May, offering the audience an opportunity to experience the island’s rich cultural traditions. Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to Bursa Ahmet Yildiz represented the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Türkiye at the event.

The Şahinkaya International Youth and Culture Festival served as a valuable platform to promote Sri Lanka’s heritage to an international audience and to foster cultural dialogue among youth from different countries.
