Indu Dharmasena’s comedy ‘Love, Lies and Wildlife’ takes the stage in a fast-paced farce where secrets unravel and nothing goes according to plan, at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on 8-10 May at 7:30 p.m.

Set in the deceptively serene Wild Life Lodge, the play follows hotel owner Sam Boladeniya and his small but spirited team as they prepare for what should be a routine long weekend. But things quickly spiral when a familiar guest, the smooth-talking Niranjan Papolwatta, arrives to meet up with his glamorous new companion—only for his unsuspecting wife to show up before, believing they’re going to spend some quality time together.

What follows is a brilliantly tangled web of lies, quick-thinking cover-ups, and escalating misunderstandings, as Sam scrambles to keep the truth from detonating in spectacular fashion.

With a colourful cast of characters—including a sharp-eyed journalist, an inquisitive friend, and a formidable uncle with little patience for nonsense—the lodge transforms into a pressure cooker of comic tension.

Packed with sharp dialogue, physical comedy, and perfectly timed chaos, Love, Lies and Wildlife is a classic farce with a modern twist—reminding audiences that in this lodge, the real wildlife isn’t in the jungle.

The production features a standout ensemble led by Indu Dharmasena as the increasingly overwhelmed Sam Boladeniya, alongside Chamitha Piyasena as the dependable Siri and Sanwada Dharmasena as the eager new receptionist Manori. Tharusha Kumarasinghe brings charm and mischief to Niranjan Papolwatta, with Krys Sosa as his unsuspecting wife Anu. Shemaiah Ratnayake plays the dazzling Surekha, while Kamanthi Wickramasinghe and Rachel Hamer add intrigue as Namali and Rehana. Michael Holsinger and Priyanka Holsinger round out the cast as the formidable William Gasgoda and his perceptive wife Gloria.
