American sports drama film “F1 the Movie” will be shown in 13 cinemas of Sri Lanka from today.
They are Kandy City Centre, Liberty by Scope Kollupitiya, Liberty by Scope Kiribathgoda, Scope Cinema – Colombo City Centre, Scope Cinema – Havelock City Mall, PVR Cinema, Chaya Cinema,
Milano Diamond, Ram Cinema, Lite Cinemas, Regal Cinemas, EAP Rajagiriya Cinemas and NIT Cinemas.
The movie is Directed by Joseph Kosinski with a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger, from a story by the two. It is based on the Formula One World Championship, created in collaboration with the FIA, its governing body. The film stars Brad Pitt in the lead role, alongside Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem.
In the 1990s, Sonny Hayes was Formula 1’s most promising driver until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team convinces Sonny to return to racing and become the best in the world. Driving alongside the team’s hotshot rookie, Sonny soon learns that the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.
