“Argylle” and “Mean Girl” movies in Lankan cinemas from today

Spy action comedy “Argylle” and musical teen comedy “Mean Girls” will be screened in several cinemas in Sri Lanka from today.

Argylle will be shown at Kandy City Centre, Colombo City Centre, Liberty by SCOPE – Kollupitiya, Liberty by SCOPE – Kiribathgoda, Chaya Cinema Kegalle, Majestic - Colombo 4, Regal – Gampaha, 

Regal – Katubedda, Regal Bandarawela, Maxx Lite, NIT Kurunegala and NIT Rathnapura.

The spy action comedy film Argylle is directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, and written by Jason Fuchs. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson. In the film, a reclusive author realizes the plot of a new spy novel she’s writing mirrors real-world events in real time.

Mean Girl will be screened at Kandy City Centre, Colombo City Centre, Liberty by SCOPE – Kollupitiya, Majestic - Colombo 4, Regal – Katubedda and Savoy 3D - Colombo 6.

American musical teen comedy film Mean Girl is directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. (in their feature directorial debuts), from a screenplay by Tina Fey. 

It is based on the Broadway musical of the same name, which in turn was based on Mark Waters’s 2004 comedy film, both written by Fey and based on Rosalind Wiseman’s 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes. It stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, and Christopher Briney. Fey and Tim Meadows reprise their roles from the original film.
