Industrial solar installation for Jay Jay Mills Lanka in Awissawella, Matara and Trincomalee

Regen Renewables has successfully delivered a 5,476 kWp multi-location industrial solar installation for Jay Jay Mills Lanka Ltd., representing a major milestone in the company’s renewable energy journey.

Jay Jay Mills Lanka, a globally recognised leader in babywear manufacturing, partnered with Regen Renewables to implement this large-scale, multi-site solar solution as part of its strategic commitment to significantly reduce carbon emissions and strengthen its ESG performance.

After an initial 60 kW installation in 2019, which built confidence in Regen’s service quality, paved the way for continued collaboration on larger, more complex installations. The overall project spans multiple operational sites across Awissawella, Kekanadura, Trincomalee, and Mannar, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing while supporting the country’s national climate goals.

The multi-site deployment spans Awissawella A6 (1,340.8 kWp), Awissawella C5 (1,200.42 kWp), Awissawella D4 (198.9 kWp), Awissawella C8 (287.235 kWp), Matara – Kekanadura (1,231.2 kWp), Trincomalee (1,160.64 kWp), and Mannar (60 kWp), collectively forming a robust and scalable renewable energy solution.

As such, this large-scale solar project is projected to generate approximately 7.3 million kWh of clean energy annually, offsetting nearly 5,420 metric tons of CO₂ emissions—a significant contribution toward Sri Lanka’s Enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the broader transition to a low-carbon industrial sector.

Regen Renewables Ltd. MD/CEO Dr. Lakmal Fernando said: “This project with Jay Jay Mills Lanka is a key milestone for Regen Renewables and for Sri Lanka’s industrial renewable energy landscape. Delivering a 5,476 kWp, multi-location solar solution across diverse operational sites demonstrates not only the scalability of solar for large manufacturers, but also the confidence our clients place in our technical expertise and execution capabilities. We are proud to support Jay Jay Mills Lanka in advancing its ESG ambitions while contributing meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s national climate commitments and transition toward a low-carbon industrial future.

This initiative highlights Regen’s capability to deliver scalable, high-impact renewable energy solutions for the industrial sector, leveraging cutting-edge technology to optimize performance and reliability. At the same time, it strongly reinforces Jay Jay Mills Lanka’s proactive commitment to reducing carbon emissions, strengthening ESG performance, and embedding clean energy into its manufacturing operations while contributing meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s broader transition toward a low-carbon economy.
